Menopause and low carb diet

I'm nearly 50 and take Hrt which has absolutely helped me with my symptoms which were mainly mood swings, irritability and night sweats. I'm on everol 75 patches and the mirena coil.
In January I embarked on a low carb diet to shift some of my Christmas pounds. I need to lose about a stone to have a healthy weight again and low carb always seems to shift it however I'm now three weeks in and my moods have come back , I'm snappy and irritated by my partner who really hasn't changed but everything he does is giving me the rage. I'm not hungry so I can say it's hangry feelings it feels very hormonal and I've started spotting again which I haven't done for months now. My question is , could it be that I need an increase on my patch or is it possible that a low carb diet is affecting my hormone balance. Has anyone had a similar experience on low carb whilst taking HRT?
