Evorel 100 patches

Trixiebell06 · 25/01/2022 12:47

Hi , I’ve just picked up my Evorel patches and the box says one patch to be applied twice weekly
For example does this mean that I apply one on the Monday morning then change it on the Wed morning then Friday morning etc
Sorry for my lack of knowing

The gp suggested one every 3 days and 1 every 4 but my brain couldn't cope with tha so I started with 3.5 days
Mon am Thurs pm

Now I do every 3 days

crispinglovershighkick · 25/01/2022 12:58

I use Estradot patches (same procedure, two patches per week). The box has a little place to put a tick next to the day of the week you first use a patch and it has its corresponding day underneath. I used my first patch on a Tuesday, underneath it says Friday, so I change them on Tuesdays and Fridays. If you start on a Monday you'd apply a new patch on Thursday.
I was glad of it because I'm an overthinker Smile

There is an example in the instructions and you can tick the days on the side of the box .

RavenclawDiadem · 25/01/2022 13:02

I use these too and the GP told me to change on the same two days each week. For me that’s Thursday and Sunday. So one is on for 3 days, the other for 4.

Thankyou all so much ,

Since each patch will work for 4 days I think it is a waste to discard one after only 3. (I pay privately and am a skinflint!) So I just diary on my phone with a reminder to apply a new one every 4 days.

AnneKipankitoo · 26/01/2022 18:08

I did that when they were difficult to get .

Trixiebell06 · 06/02/2022 21:22

Can I ask where do you stick your patches and how often do you change the location
I’m starting Everol patches tomorrow I would have preferred Estradot as their smaller but apparently there’s a supply issue .

I change sides when I replace one.
I place them within the outline of small briefs. Be careful not to put them near elastic lines .

It needs to go below the waist to prevent the small risk of breast cancer. I usually put in either on my lower back/bum or on my thigh at the front. I get quite sore from them so have to move them around to different locations to give it a chance to heal. I probably need to go back to GP about it but it’s such a faff so I’m just putting up with it!

I find it helpful to use Waterproof Transparent Stretch Adhesive to keep the patch in place and stop water getting underneath it. That also seems to prevent the soreness a bit.

Hiya, I only started on Everol Sequi a couple of weeks ago but have been replacing patch every Thurs & Mon or Sunday. Does it matter that much if it's 3 or 4 days? Blush

RoyKentsChestHair · 09/02/2022 23:24

No, I was told to pick two days and that way it’s easier to remember - I was working somewhere different Tuesday and Friday at the time so I picked them! Since I stopped I keep forgetting what day it is, so need to pick two I can remember again!

RoyKentsChestHair · 09/02/2022 23:26

As Covidcurious said above, if one patch is fine for 4 days then you could use them all for 4 days to make the most of them, just make sure to keep refilling your prescription at the right time and you can build up a couple of spares in case one peels off.

skylover · 10/02/2022 09:44

Thanks! And yes roykentschesthair I think I might do that actually.
So far all good. About to go onto the 2 progesterone weeks so fingers crossed. I've had to take Cyclogest for a few pregnancies though and I wasn't too bad on that and dr said that's a much higher dose.
I hope everyone else is finding relief Thanks

Yes keep to the same two days. My box actually has this on the side to help remind you.

Does anyone else get itchy from these?

Holothane · 14/02/2022 22:59

Yes I scratched my butt off I had to show dr in the end took me straight off them I have a gel now instead.

RoyKentsChestHair · 15/02/2022 00:25

Yes I find I get itchy/sore from them. It’s not so bad now that I use the wound dressing strip on top to seal it properly as I think getting water underneath it in the shower wasn’t helping, and I ended up rubbing the glue from around the edges when it itched. Getting them on properly flat so there’s no creases when you sit/bend over etc helps too, so I’ve started using the top of my thigh more than my bum, as there’s less movement!
