Been going downhill for years. Hit rock bottom and have been on Citalopram for a year. Have had bloods 'normal' dr's suggested anti'D's for quite a while before I accepted them. would love some suggestions of how to get the best from my Dr's (which is now a stream of locums) as I don't think they're the answer long term
low mood/anxiety/depression/ erratic cycle/brain fog/memory/low confidence/migraines/wind/weak bladder.

What do you want to get out of the dr? (What's 'best'?)

Just a few facts

Blood tests are not recommended by NICE for women in peri if you are 45 and over, as they are not accurate/ reliable.

Anti-Ds are not recommended by NICE for peri symptoms which you describe. The NICE guidance is pinned at the top of this forum so you can read all of this.

Have you thought about what you want?

1Your main options are lifestyle - diet, exercise, yoga, mindfulness, CBT, and maybe some herbal supplements (although very few are proven to work.)

2 Or HRT

3 Hrt and all of the above lifestyle changes.

Have a read around on it all. If you put 'why not antidepressants for menopause' into google, it will bring up a lot of medical sites and articles.
