Periods or not?

Hi, wondering if anyone can help.

I have been in perimenopause for nearly 9 years (since age 39) and been getting hot flushes on and off during this time. My periods have become more irregular over this time too. However for the last 6 months my periods have gone from normal bleeding (several tampons a day) to not needing any they are so light. I'm not sure if they still count as period or not? I'm still having these light bleeds roughly when i would have been due but they are not like my periods have ever been before. Any experience shared would be appreciated.

Watching with interest as having a period like that right now! Very light with no need for tampon and barely a spot on a pad either. My periods have become increasingly erratic over the last few months and, although generally heavy, I've had a few light ones in between, but this is the lightest by far. Really hoping this is the beginning of the end.......
