So tired...

On my 3rd month of hrt. Generally am happy with it as much more on an even keel.
I think I need to keep a mood diary though. Last week of progesterone bit and feel tired and premenstrual.
But, feel 'life' is part of it. Work hard for low pay. Today feel a bit of a failure. There are work/ life reasons but aware my cycle may play a part. Pre hrt was climbing the walls emotionally before period.
Maybe being tired and subdued is not so bad!
Hrt been good for me I think but can't solve everything!
Just a before-bed slumpy post!

This time of year can be pants. I'm feeling glum this time, coming up to 3 months on hrt.

Did you get bloods done eg thyroid etc?

Do you need hrt adjusted? I'm thinking of asking to try a little higher.

The only other idea some have mentioned is the possibility of testosterone. Also, have you tried progesterone vaginally? Supposed to create less effects but still do the job

Morning. Feel a bit better this morning. Thanks.
Yes, had all bloods done- thyroid, etc.
Just had a phone review to get a second 3 months supply so think need to give time. As I said, generally feel much better on hrt.
Before the next review will track my mood over the month but guess also need to be aware can't cure life-type situations etc curveballs or general work situations!
What symptoms makes you feel you need adjusting up?
I am 55 and on Femoston 1/10 tablets. [Still had periods when started hence cyclical regime].

I'm still getting some hot flushes and aches at times.

I feel like it was great at first then wore off a bit, but this time of year is rubbish! And life is ridiculously full on.

A fb group I'm in said it can be a bit like that. I'm only on 37.5 patches which is quite low. When my own hormones are higher I feel great.

An acid test will be today, second day of my period has seen me flat out especially after being a work the previous day. Being more with it will indicate it's doing its job!

Periods have gone a bit random, I came to post a post as I don't know what to do about the progesterone!

I'm sorry you felt a failure yesterday.

You clearly aren't!

What could you do to make some small changes that might help?

DinkyDaisy · 21/01/2022 06:42

I think I need not to compare myself to others. At 55 I should have learned that! Mostly I don't, but in tired, weak moments I do.
I like a glass of wine on an evening. I probably should have more days when I don't. We are talking about those little cans of 200mls.
I need to make sensible to-do lists [round messy house, home repairs, etc] and try and resist my lifelong habit of procrastination!

I think, like you, at first I thought a cure all.
I do think the time of year doesn't help and hrt not a magic cure all to life stuff!

I also think my own hormones sort of breaking through round bleed time...

Right, 2 teenagers to get moving before work!
Thanks for the chat!

All very good advice above!

I do think hormones can break through. Just not as badly.

Hope you feel better soonBrew
