Help! Arms tingling with cyclical progesterone

Hello, I'm on month 2 of cyclical hrt. Under a clinic. I've done one pump first month of gel and now on 1.5.... going slowly. It's had a profound positive impact on my mood and flushes etc.

I suspected progesterone sensitive (couldn't take the progesterone pill as gave me numb fingers etc 20 years ago!) so taking the 100mg capsules vaginally on their advice. The first month on the very first night of progesterone I got this symptom... tingling hands and arms both sides. Like peripheral neuropathy. Tried for a few days and had it, plus extreme anxiety and couldn't sleep at all. I googled a bit and found it was an uncommon side effect and am not worried about it being a clot or stroke - esp being on both sides. I then went to inserting a capsule every other night for 14 days as I read that might help at first. By the end of the 14 days the symptom had gone and it wasn't causing this. Everything I've read says it's due to extreme hormonal fluctuations messing with the neural
Messages!

Day 1 of second month last night and straight away... tingling arms and hands, manic feeling anxiety. Didn't sleep. I'm not taking it tonight, will wait until tomorrow (the half life is longer than that on oestrogen) so should be ok. I will follow up with clinic when they're open.

My question is... for those of you that have had this did you have to stop? Did it go away? If it's going to happen on the first few days of the cyclical process I can't cope with it, it's awful and highly stressful. Wondering what anyone's experiences have been on it settling down?

Hi, bobbing in to bump for you. This isn't an issue I've had though I have had many others! It may well settle, a lot of HRT things do seem to for me. I haven't heard of alternating days for progesterone, I think this would cause spotting for me. I think the progesterone in HRT is a royal pain up the arse! Hope someone comes on who knows more (though I tend to find the meno board quiet - you could ask on menopause matters)

Thanks for the bump. I'm on month two so expecting some initial side effects. Just wondering if this has passed for others.

Hope your hrt is working well! X

Yes I've had pins and needles in both hands and feet before starting HRT. It came with massive anxiety and panic attacks. After feeling so bad I contacted my GP and got HRT. I'm on oestrogen and progesterone and have only had it two weeks and the tingling is still there but I think it is gradually getting less the longer I am on HRT. So maybe it is due to hormonal fluctuations rather than progesterone itself?

Yes I have read that its rapid fluctuations. I'm scared to start up on the progesterone again but might try this weekend. I wonder if I just push through the first couple of days I'll be ok. But do I want this every month! Hope you're improving on the hrt! My flushes have gone. Am sleeping! If I have to give up due to the progesterone I'll be devastated.
