So I'm 49 and peri

Started combined patches and the mini pill (for contraception) a month ago.

Also oestrogen tablets for vaginal dryness and sylk.

I've just finished my first box of patches. I felt loads better the first 2 weeks with them then got sore breasts and more grumpy again.

Also having had some relief from the itchy, dry soreness round my vagina its back worse then ever the last couple of days.

I had a doctors call this morning to see if there was anything else that I could do.

I suggested coming off the mini pill (too much progesterone)? Doctor said no!

All he could suggest was it might be thrush - it's not, I know what that feels like.

So I thought I'd try here - I've read a few people using steroid cream - could I ask for this from a different doctor! Or are there any other soothing creams that might help till I can get a doctors appointment - I've resorted to sudocrem but not sure that's a good idea.

You could try something like this
www.superdrug.com/Health/Women%27s-Intimate-Health-Care/Vaginal-Dryness-Treatment/Vagisil-Daily-Soothe-And-Protect-(Oatmeal)-Cream/p/802618?gclid=CjwKCAiA8bqOBhANEiwA-sIlNyYW8LmmYnbEtuiHWPRKo_v7raRGu4LZCDaZMP7_dUdLwR0PRhW3SxoCowEQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

I know you say it’s not thrush but, as a life long sufferer, thrush in my late 40’s really feels different to how I felt when I first started suffering. It might be worth trying some clotrimazole cream just in case.

I am a similar age and went through this recently. I treated for thrush but no improvement. Google suggested I try Dr Woolfs which seemed to help very quickly.
