Anyone else combined pill for menopause?

Mid 40s, wanted contraception but POP was horrendous as I need estrogen as well as progesterone. GP said combined pill was best first choice - simple and presumably cheap. I had no risk factors and so happy to give it a go.
I was on patches 4 years ago as I was too underweight to have any cycles. I've corrected that. When I was on patches, they were near impossible to get hold of - I get one months supply, put in a repeat and then there would be several delays getting them so it was like 4 weeks on, 3 weeks off, 4 weeks on 2 weeks off etc.
I am wondering if I should have pushed for patches again, but I didn't get on well with POP, and dont' want the implant or coil so no idea what to do about contraception.

I was on one called Qlaira and got on we with it. It helped my peri symptoms at first but they started to return after a while. There were also supply issues which led to me switching to mirena coil and estrogen patches. I feel better on the coil and patches than I did on the pill.
