Going from Evorel Sequi patches to Elleste Duet 1mg tablets

I have been on Evorel Sequi 50 patches for just over 3 months and they were great at first, but lately the symptoms have started to sneak back in (Itchiness, hot flushes and cold flashes) so I called the doctor today and she has put me on Elleste Duet 1mg pills to start today.

What I would like to know is will all of the good work be undone whilst I’m waiting on the pills to kick in? The pills can take 12 weeks and I really don’t think I can go back to having all the symptoms again for 12 weeks. Would it be wrong to keep one of the patches on whilst I wait for the pills to kick in? I know I should have asked the doctor but I forgot (serious memory issues here!) and if anyone knows then I’m sure MN will.Smile

Thanks in advance.

PS I wish HRT came in injection form so it could straight to my blood stream, and none of this 12 week waiting period.

Would it really take 12 weeks to work I wonder? You are not starting from zero if you see what I mean...

Yeah I think you are correct, because the hormones are already in me then it won’t take too long.

I'm on Femoston 1/10 which is a tablet. I was starting from zero as not been on hrt before. Just started month 3 and definitely had improvements in mood, sleep and brain fog. Month 1 a bit wobbly and I still have my moments! However, you have your hormones boosted already so hopefully all will be smooth!

Sorry I’ve taken so long to get back to you...I bloody well forgot about this post!! Serious brain fog!

Yeah I didn’t get the pills until yesterday as the chemist had none in stock..funny the chemists never run out of addiction meds but they don’t seem to think HRT is all that important! Angry

Anyway, the pills are working and they are far better than the patches, but there are 16 of 1 and only 14 of the other.

Hello, apologies for my late reply!
I have just asked for a repeat prescription of my tablets.
They do seem to be working for me.
I notice on Mumsnet most people on gel or patches.
However, whilst this seems to be working will stick to tablets.
