Sorry if TMI but I have been on HRT for three months now. Patches twice a week and 1 x Utrogestan vaginally 14 days on 14 days off. I've just finished 14 days on and for the last 2 days have noticed a black/brown discharge. Quite heavy in the last day or so? has anyone else had experience of this 😳

Unless it's the powder that's coming out when I have my period?

I know that in the fb group women described lots of bits coming out but it was a small price to pay for the benefits.
I was surprised I didn't have any.

There's a comparative study in the linked bms piece that found orally and vaginally made no difference to endo thickness. I'd imagine bits come out in most women. I'm a bit concerned mine isn't from an infection POV...

I use utro vaginally. Each month my period is different. Sometimes more brown and drags on for ages , sometimes bright red and short.
I cannot tolerate it orally. I do get the white casing discharge the next morning though.

It's interesting as I always assumed (as does my dr I think) that vaginally meant more absorption as it went straight to the uterus . But in my case I know so much is falling out, it can't be!

I have used it both ways. Orally, I sleep better but have to get up at least once for a wee as it's classed as a diuretic. It also makes me have more wees early on in the mornings. I can feel a bit sleepy and lethargic.

Vaginally, I get very hot at night, and wake up a lot, but don't need wees.

Take your pick.

I get some white discharge the next morning too. I assume it's fine.

I can't tolerate it orally either - felt absolutely murderous and the bloating was just agony. I looked about 5 months pregnant. It does take a few months to settle down though - maybe 5 or 6 (or at least that was my experience).
