I've been on the HRT patches for 4 weeks now and I'm suffering from aching joints all over, from my fingers, elbows, knees, ankles. Is this normal, is anyone else getting this, its' miserable!

Hi @virtualtracey, we're just giving this thread a bump for you in case anyone's around to help. Hang on in there Brew

Yes me! I was getting this too. It was recommended to try vitamin B12. So I did - and after a week or so it made a huge difference. Give it a try hopefully it works for you.

Try turmeric capsules and Omega 3 fish oil.

virtualtracey · 10/12/2021 17:13

Thanks for the responses, that's so helpful.
I shall try the B12, I already take turmeric and Omega 3.
I've been recommended to take glucosomine and magnesium.
No fun getting older!
Thanks again

Vitamin D has worked wonders on my very aching joints. I am in a chemically induced menopause and taking HRT to counteract the side effects of the CIM.

I was waking up in the night with joint pain. It isn't B12 for me as I already have B12 injections every six weeks.

My VitD was very low (caused by the drugs) but all pains gone within ten days 🙏.

Thank you EightMaidsaMilking - that's really helpful too.

Everyone is so friendly and helpful.

I had very aching joints (hips mostly) and over the last year have introduced the following:

Vitamin B12
Magnesium Citrate
Vitamin D3
Turmeric

I'm also a huge proponent of the 'menopause diet' (www.healthline.com/nutrition/menopause-diet). I have no idea which of all of that works (perhaps the combination) but my aching joints have gone.

I’ve got this. Within 24 hours of starting oestrogel my fingers became swollen and painful. Is oestrogen linked to inflammation?

Red41 · 28/12/2021 02:07

I’ve been getting pains on both my legs mainly the knees and below is this normal?
