Just had Mirena out - what HRT should I have now?

I'm in my 50s and just had my (third) Mirena out after having it for 5 years - they've worked really well for me and I haven't had a period in years... I'm also on Evorel 100 patches (recently changed from Estrodot 75). However the nurse found what looks to be a polyp whilst taking out the old Mirena so called the GP in - who has referred me to a clinic in Jan for coloscopy and obviously won't fit the new Mirena until everything checked out. All a bit unexpected, but Dr said she would now need to change my HRT to include progesterone. Surgery have confirmed she's forgotten to do this and I need to chase tomorrow for a prescription. Does anyone have any advice on what I should be asking for? My concern is that it could be months until a new Mirena could be fitted and I'd like to avoid going back to heavy periods if possible. Thanks all!
