Peri menopause and HRT after ablation ….and bad experience with hormones

Has anyone experience of HRT after having an ablation?
I am pretty sure I’m peri menopausal, I’m 48, have started having hot flushes in the day and night, and have become an insomniac 😕
I had an ablation about 6 years ago and have not had a period since.
I’m worried about next steps as I couldn’t take the pill as it made me so unwell (physically and emotionally, or the mirena coil. I took a course of progesterone pills once to delay a period and felt enraged all the time.
As well as this, I had borderline PMDD .
Any help, advice or similar experience would be really welcome, or recommendations of specialists who could help? I am honestly scared of hormones affecting me that way ever again
Many thanks

HRT and the Pill are different. HRT is body identical estrogen- the pill isn't.

There are also 4 types of progestogen to choose from for HRT so don't think it's like the Pill.
