Yesterday I full on wet myself , I was laying on the bed when I got up to go to the bathroom ( to pee) I felt a trickle and could not stop the flow .
I normally have to rush to the loo the few days before my period but this has really freaked me out . Too embarrassed to tell Gp . Is there anything I can do to prevent this happening again? I’m 46 and think I’m near menopause .

Can you afford a couple of sessions with a female physiotherapist? I found three sessions really helped me to be sure I was doing pelvic floor excercises right. Otherwise google, and see if it improves things?

'Too embarrassed to tell Gp '

Please don't be too embarrassed to tell your GP, it is what they are there for. There could be a myriad of reasons for this, but routine checks may be needed to rule out UTI etc. You may just need topical oestrogen vaginally or as the pp said exercises could help but please at least send off an econsult to get the ball rolling. Good luck.
