Can you get signs a period's coming when one isn't?

Hello. I've been having periods bang on 28 days most of this year, but the last two have been 35 then 30 days apart. This time I feel like one's about to arrive (29 days - that'll teach me to hope!) but I just wondered if you can get cramps, sore boobs, irritability, all the usual signs it's about to arrive, but it not arrive? I'm wondering because I was so sure I was about to have a period when I turned out to be pregnant with my daughter! I'm not worrying that I'm pregnant btw, the coil sees to that.

Hiya, I am jumping on your thread for the exact same thing!

I was going to post "is this the start of it??".
I'm 44, my cycles have ALWAYS been less than 28 days since they started when I was 12.

The days between have been 22-26 days most of this year. Im on day 32!
I don't have any other peri symptoms, other than a bit of brain fog (saying the wrong thing / forgetting my words), periods have been awful since last baby (shes 10 now 🤣)
No hot flashes etc.
Keep thinking my period is about to start, but nothing at all.

I had a tubal ligation at my last c/s!

I feel your pain. I was always 28 days. I am now anywhere between 21 and 60 days. My period app has completely given up. But the worse thing is having the period symptoms still on a 28 day cycle. It fucking stinks.

starfishmummy · 27/11/2021 11:47

Yes I did a few times. But that apart I sailed through without any other symptoms so I can't complain!

starfishmummy · 27/11/2021 11:51

@Twix42 at 44, even with the tubal ligation I'd be getting a pregnancy test!!

Twix42 · 27/11/2021 11:59

Sad oh no. I was worried someone might say that.

Twix42 · 06/12/2021 20:09

Still no period 😢 I cd41 now...
Not pregnant either!
Urgh, no clue if I should see GP. What could they do??

Gentleness · 08/12/2021 07:19

That happened to me the cycle after my first Pfizer jab. Everything pointed to my period being round the corner then it didn't start. It was not a peaceful wait, despite the -ve tests. The next period was on schedule and horrible - sorry.

I haven't had a period since October but I've had the usual weight gain, bloating, bad mood and spots for about 3 weeks now. I just want it to come! I'm 48 though so maybe it's buggered off forever. Wish the extra lbs would as well.

Honeyroar · 12/12/2021 22:56

My periods have still been really regular, but much shorter and heavier. They've been exhausting (and I've been like a teenager!). In August they stopped, but I've still felt like I was coming on each month, still felt a bit PMT. But that seems to be calming too. And I'm not missing them! (I'm sure there will be more at some point just when I've forgotten all about it!)

I had that on and off through menopause.
