Sore, tingly swollen breasts

Can sore large boobs be a rare symptom of menopause?? My boobs feel pregnant, the rest of me doesn’t and it would be an (almost) immaculate conception when frequency and not to mention contraception are taken into account. I’m 45. Plus I’m still having periods although the last two were slightly lighter.

Aside from that I’m not sure I’m getting hot flushes or not.

I’ve ordered a preg test but it seems so unlikely but I want to rule it out.

Yes, absolutely. I was referred to the breast clinic and the doctor said that the pain can be remarkable. Generally nothing to worry about but it really was like being completely engorged when breast feeding without the relief of actually feeding. It was my first peri symptom at about 43/4.

I totally had this. I read somewhere to take evening primrose oil and I think it’s helping.

Yes absolutely. I went from having very tender, almost painful boobs, in the lead up to my period, to having sore, tingly, heavy boobs pretty much all the time. I started HRT and it got worse. I have large boobs anyway. But it has settled right down now.

Phew! Nowhere mentions this online!

Ladies - how long does this go on for? Am I going to need bugger bras??! I have already had this for a month…

I’ll be slightly sorry when they’ve returned to normal! They look amazing! Grin
