Fairly certain I’m peri but haven’t been to the doctors yet as I’m worried at 44 they’ll just send me on my way or offer anti d’s. Lots of various lovely symptoms but am wondering if hair loss is also one of them?
I do have a lot of hair so I’m not noticeably thinning at this point but I am quite alarmed by how much is left in the bottom of the bath after I wash my hair. Thanks to all the hair loss the plug is well clogged so most of my hair is not draining away so I’m seeing just how much is coming out. I cleaned the bathroom last night and after a shower this morning there was loads on there.

Is there anything I can take to help?

Yes, it’s peri. I lost a lot in my early 40’s, went to the GP and was just told to take iron. I did, and it did nothing.
I’ve no magic cure I’m afraid, it might be worth getting your iron checked if you have heavy periods.
Some people take those hair and nail supplements, but not sure if they actually do anything.

See your GP for blood tests. Yes it can be Peri, but that in itself can make you more prone to deficiencies that carry similar symptoms. My pernicious anaemia was fobbed off as peri/meno for years.

I’ve used their elixir treatment (amzn.to/318kdgz) earlier this year and it worked really well, but it has a strong scent. The capsules obviously won’t have any scent!

Oh, I'm in this boat too 😢. I've been losing masses of hair every time I wash or brush. And oh.my.god. The hoover is pulling guinea pig-sized tumbleweeds of my hair out of the carpet. I was coping with all that. But today DD12 was looking at me and suddenly asked if I should go to the GP to ask for help with my hair. Because she could see my scalp.

And the stupid thing is that I take supplements for hair and nails, I take multivitamins. I'm on the combined pill continuously. It shouldn't be happening.

Same here. Hair loss is the pits. Even when I went on HRT, my hair kept on shedding!
