Starting HRT. Would it be ok to put off my covid booster?

Urrrgh! I am very pro vaccinations.
But am in the early stages of trying HRT.
I know that a lot of people have felt the vaccine has messed with their cycles.
Am I completely mad to consider waiting a bit until my HRT regime has had time to settle?
Please be polite in your replies.

I wouldn't put off my booster, no. But I don't have periods any more anyway.

GoodnightGrandma · 20/11/2021 11:58

It didn’t mess with my cycle and I’ve had 3.
Coming into the winter season I wouldn’t put your booster off.

MammaLovesLeopard · 20/11/2021 12:06

Thank you for your kind replies.
I think you are most likely right & am just letting small seeds of doubt in as my emotions are rather all over the place right now.

No, I wouldn't put it off. Menopause is shit, it would be worse with long Covid!

DinkyDaisy · 20/11/2021 14:36

I had my booster last weekend and just started hrt.
My emotions on a rollercoaster but don't think booster to blame!
Glad to have got it out of the way...

Have the booster asap

True.

I wouldn't wait. I had jabs 1 & 2 fairly early on in my HRT regime. I had irregular bleeding, but that was probably due to my own hormones and not to do with the jab or the HRT.

SilverGlassHare · 20/11/2021 18:04

My second jab did mess with my cycle but not so much that I’d put off a booster - protection from covid is the more important thing, I would say.

CrimbleCrumble1 · 20/11/2021 18:05

Have the booster. Long Covid is no fun.
I caught covid 5 and a half months after my second jab.

ladygindiva · 20/11/2021 18:06

Don't put off your booster. I started hrt in late February and had az jabs in March and June I don't think it affected the hrt or my cycle at all though I was actually having a period when I had both jabs, don't know if that matters at all.

MammaLovesLeopard · 20/11/2021 21:25

Thank you so much all of you for talking sense. I will book it. Just having a wee moment there. Silly. You are all completely right.

I'm waiting for my appt with a consultant to discuss if I'm suitable for HRT (I'm high risk for breast cancer so my GP won't entertain it) while I'm struggling with long Covid. The Covid brain fog / memory loss combined with peri-menopausal brain fog is beyond miserable. I have days when I literally can't remember if I flossed my teeth 2 mins previously (until I see the used floss, duh).

So please OP, have the booster! Long Covid makes it so much worse and I', definitely writing this from experience.
