Anything for mood swings ?

Before I actually go ahead and divorce my DH, is there anything I could try for mood swings ?
I seem to have mood swings that can go up, down, and back up and down again all in one day. I’ve become a person that wants their own way frequently, but then why not as I’m an adult that earns a wage.
I really don’t know if this is hormonal, or getting older (with the kids moving on and becoming an individual again, rather than just mum).
Any experience or understanding welcomed !

Sorry - no advice but a massive load of solidarity. I'm EXACTLY the same lately. I used to be quite unconfident, but recently I've become convinced that I'm in fact always right about everything. 😆

My mood can go from happy to miserable yo angry yo happy again within hours. It's exhausting and makes me unsure how much I can believe what I'm feeling - if you know what I mean. It's like PMT every day.

HRT isn't helping this much, either!

HRT was a life saver.

I was a nightmare before starting HRT. I’m a lot calmer and less reactive about things now.

I don’t want to ‘sedate’ myself to live the life I have. Can’t work out if it’s me or him.
I don’t really want to do HRT is I’m overweight and drink 2 bottles of wine a week. Also I don’t have hot flushes or trouble sleeping. Mirena has helped my heavy periods, mood swings is my only problem.

I'll tell you something that helped me, and no one ever believes me and I was so skeptical before I tried it, so I totally understand. However, it's less than a tenner, so please try it! A magnetic bracelet. You can get them on amazon, ebay, etsy, Holland and barratt. They come in silver, copper, titanium and leather and you can get them in different designs or plain etc.

I got mine about 2pm one day and put it on, the next day I was like a different person and ages later it's still working. I'll be totally honest here and say I was genuine concerned that one day I would kill myself or someone else my moods and anger were so bad. I would be laughing and in love one minute and crying and wanting to pack my bags the next, I was like 20 different people and now I'm one calm, happy person.

GoodnightGrandma · 20/11/2021 09:08

Is it just called a magnetic brace ?

Yes, here's an example of one, you can see the magnets on it. They're sometimes describes as things like magnetic bracelet health/healing and they are also used for arthritis pain relief so you can also use that as a search term.

Someone told me about them as it 'cured' their depression. I was sceptical but they're like a different person now (it's actually quite shocking to see if you'd known them) so I tried it and it worked.

Ok, so I’m not convinced about the bracelet but will give it a go.
Anything herbal anyone can recommend ?
I’m on EPO, cod liver, magnesium and vit B already.

Menopace is really good. I'm only on the cheap £5 type but they def helped cure The Rage at the start. I'm going to go onto the spendy £15 type when I finish this box - if I'm not in prison for murder by then.

GoodnightGrandma · 20/11/2021 11:44

I took them once before but my thyroid levels seemed to be slightly affected, or maybe it was coincidence.
I’ll give them another go.
I’ll try anything !

I agree with the PMT every day thing, I know exactly what you mean. So HRT hasn’t helped that ?

Did you start it for that, or other symptoms ? If I had sweats and trouble sleeping I might be convinced, but not sure right now.
