I am mid fifties and have had no periods for last four years after having undergone an endometrial ablation to sort out my constant heavy periods. This was like a miracle as since then have had no issues with bleeding at all. However for the last few months I have been having hot flushes throughout the night causing sleep disturbance, not over keen in idea of tablets or patches is anyone having topical HRT that has helped with this and if so what brand and then I can request from GP.

I'm on Evorel 50 oestrogen patches which help massively with hot flushes, literally in about 2 weeks they subsided.

I have to also take progesterone tablets half of my cycle as i still have periods and a womb. You would need to talk to your doctor about whether you would need Progesterone or not. AFAIK I have to take them to prevent the lining of the womb building up too much and make sure it is shed, like a period. Not sure if you would have to do this on not....
