Mirena-constant bleeding?

I am on Mirena plus oestrogel, had the Mirena fitted a month ago. I’ve had light bleeding every day for that month, not one single day clear. I can’t say that I’ve noticed much of an effect from the gel either- got it for mood issues.

I keep reading that the Mirena takes time to settle but it’s getting me down. Anyone have this much bleeding and find that it eventually went away?

I got a Mirena about 5 years ago for endo. From memory it took a couple of months to settle down properly and I bled most days. I haven’t had a period since.

Useful to hear, thanks. Hopefully only a month more of this or so to go!

I had mirena put in in 2018. I had six months of constant bleeding but then it suddenly settled. As for my periods now, well they barely exist. For me it was worth getting past that first hurdle

My mirena was fitted about 7 weeks ago. Pretty much constant bleeding (varying light to heavier) for about 6 weeks, but then it stopped. Yay!

I had spotting for a month or so. I have nothing at all now 9 months on but weight gain around my tummy and bust is something else! Shock

It works for some women and not for others.

I had a mirena coil in for 13 long months and bled for practically all of that time, often very heavily. I had to have it taken out and I will never have another.

When I sought a second opinion with a different gynaecologist it turned out that the size and shape of one particular fibroid meant it would never have worked and I shouldn't have been fitted with it.

The previous gynaecologist had pushed it enthusiastically.

I had the bleeding for about 4 months but it got less frequent after couple of months.

I also seem to spot if I forget the oestrogel !
