Trans vaginal scan

I'm having a TVS in a few weeks. It's because of post menopausal bleeding
For the last few days I've had horrendous pain in the region of my left kidney, it's so bad I can hardly walk
My question is, will the sonographer be able to see my kidney from that angle. And would I be cheeky to ask ?

I think you need to see your GP again about this other symptom. The scan can see a lot but it's not meant for detailed views of a kidney and I doubt it shows that.

You’d need a separate scan for your kidney. I’ve had the same symptoms and had two scans. Oddly enough for the kidney one they get you to lie on your side - well they did with me anyway.

They have always scanned my whole pelvis region at the same time as TV. They have a look at kidneys etc first and then go onto the TVS. I can only speak from my experience - maybe ask your Dr to add a note on the scan request to check pelvis too.

Your kidneys are above the waist quite high up in the back.
I doubt they will scan them and also it may be a different person who needs to do a kidney scan or a vaginal scan.
