Evorel Conti - how did it affect you? Did it help?

QuestionNumberOne · 03/11/2021 01:47

So after trying oestrogel (which was enlivening) and then adding in utrogestan at night (which made me feel absolutely awful all day - like I’d been drugged/exhausted/ tearful/brain fog) I am just starting Evorel Conti patches instead.

I’m on Cerazette which has recently stopped my periods so I guess that’s why I’ve been given the Conti and not the Sequi. I’m 47.

Would love to hear of anyones experience on the Conti patches. Bit of a journey, this HRT business…

Thanks Smile

You shouldn't be using cerazette with conti patches they both contain progesterone, do you mean evorel oestrogen only patches not conti?

QuestionNumberOne · 03/11/2021 14:13

No I mean Conti, the doctor okayed it. I am going to check.

Yes I would, you definitely don't need that much progesterone it can make you feel quite ill, conti contains both hormones and is to be used alone.

QuestionNumberOne · 03/11/2021 14:19

NB The progesterone only mini pill is perfectly safe to take with HRT, just double checked.

However I am wondering if I should have been given the sequi patches instead…

I have been on them for about 3 months now, and they have made a difference to my rage and anxiety. I started to really notice this only last week, so I think it may take a while to properly kick in.

Today I felt a bit ragey and realised I should have changed the patch yesterday! What hasn't changed, which I really hoped for, is that I still have no get up and go or enthusiasm for anything.

TinaWeymouthsBass · 03/11/2021 19:25

You don't need sequi as that's a regime that also has progesterone, you need an oestrogen only patch such as evorel 25, 50 or 100 or estradot to use alongside the mini pill.

QuestionNumberOne · 03/11/2021 21:34

Tina the Newson clinic plus my GP plus Google searching say the pop pill is absolutely fine to take with both progesterone and oesteogen HRT Smile

(It’s the combined pill you mustn’t take with HRT because of the oestrogen).

Movinghouse that’s great they’ve helped with the rage. Maybe as time passes it will help improve other factors? Hope so.

I've found Evorel Conti great. Stopped my hot flushes and other horrible symptoms. Also, i personally prefer a patch rather than pills, which i took before.

user1471543683 · 05/11/2021 17:25

I've been given Evorel Conti and am on the Cerelle Pill. Looking online it's says Conti is for those post menopause who haven't had a period for a year. But I have only not had a period for a year because of the pill. I dint know what my normal periods would be like. I've had 2 blood tests to confirm I am in menopause but not sure I've been prescribed the right thing.

AtrociousCircumstance · 09/11/2021 23:48

My GP assured me Conti is the right patch if you’re not having periods (I’m not due to Cerazette pill and I had my last period a few months ago). Evorel Sequi allows you to have a bleed.

I’m feeling v emotional on Conti - does that settle?

Mummacake · 17/11/2021 15:31

Have been on evorel conti for a few months now. I was also hoping for the brain fog to clear & energy to return, but nothing yet😞 After 5yrs of no periods, I got some light bleeding which was very confusing & also some continuous heavy discharge after 3mths. Have had some investigations done and the consultant says nothing to worry about but I'm not very happy. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced similar?

WendyJames35 · 17/11/2021 15:42

Have been on everol conti since July. My symptoms were poor sleep, hot flushes especially at night, brain fog, lack of energy and was so, so tired. My periods hadn't stopped, but were all over the place with no pattern at all.
I feel much better, all symptoms have improved although I haven't yet got back in to regular exercise - I was hoping to have a whole new energy surge and zest to start running again. Still waiting....

WendyJames35 · 17/11/2021 15:44

Sorry-ignore the above, am on sequi, not conti!

DarkBlueEyes · 17/11/2021 16:13

I've been on them over a year and they are brilliant!!!!

Lizziebuff21 · 15/10/2023 07:45

Hi. I was wonder are you still taking HRT and Cerazette together and how is it working?
