Oestrogel Template?

Picked up my first prescription of Oestrogel today and apparently I'm supposed to use a template so I put it on the correct sized area. There was no template in the box or on the instructions so I went back to the pharmacy and they said they'd never heard of needing a template so I'd need to ask my GP for one. To save time and hassle of going back to GP, I was wondering if anyone could give me rough idea of how big it actually is? Assuming all the templates are the same size Confused

Pharmacist here... As big an area as possible. If you are using more than one pump then do one pump per thigh or arm/shoulder. The company says an areas at least 750cm square eg an area 30cm by 25cm

I haven't seen templates used in years!

Thank you AltitudeCheck ~ I've got to do two pumps so will do one on each thigh.

Saw my GP today, she prescribed it and said an area about the size of your hand.

Most GPs know so little about HRT

When I started with gel years ago, the leaflet in the box was to double-up as a template. It was slightly smaller than an A4 size.

I don't think it matters that much, but in order for the gel to dry quickly, you need to spread it quite thinly.

I use half a pump on each thigh or upper arm - squirt it onto my palm, then spread half on one leg or arm. It covers my inner thigh from knee upwards, and my arm from elbow to shoulder.
