Is there a test to check oestrogen levels?

I should probably know this but I don't. Is there a test - blood maybe? - which can show if my oestrogen levels are falling? I see them available cheaply on Amazon etc but what do these actually do?!

Thanks!

There are various tests that the GP can do - however I was told that it is hard for these to be accurate as a one off test, as due to our cycles hormone levels are constantly changing?

I think because it varies so much even within a day, over a week, over the month and the year at mid 40s that they're unreliable as a way to test what's going on.

You can get it done online, with private companies like Medichecks for example. I had full blood test done with them, and also separately the hormone test once . They send you a kit in the post , very well explained and packaged , you do finger prick yourself and send a sample in return packaging supplied. You get your results within 3 days ,and a doctor report.
I was quite pleased with them and it was so simple to do. I paid £49 I think for hormone one,but I think they have 20% offer at the moment. With oestradiol you need to keep in mind it really goes up and down at different times of your cycle. You'll need to do a day 3 test probably more than once, to get an accurate level.
