Does this sound like a hot flush?

I'm 42. For the last few months I've been waking in the night feeling sweaty down the back of my thighs and groin area only. Very odd, as I'm normally a very cold person and don't sweat much. Last night I woke up in the night covered in sweat but didn't feel hot or cold, felt totally normal but just a bit wet!

I've noticed I've been feeling warmer than usual. I have Reynauds and generally feel cold all the time unless it's mid summer. I went to put the laundry out in just a vest the other day and didn't feel cold at all.

Yesterday I had an episode that lasted about an hour where I just felt really really hot. No sweating, no flushed face or anything, I didn't even look hot, just felt really hot while everyone else in my family felt normal/cold. Took my temperature and it was normal and I didn't feel hot to touch.

Not sure if this could be peri symptoms or something more worrying (I have health anxiety so always assuming the worst!). Not sure if I should speak to the GP but he's not the most sympathetic.

I just wondered if this sounded like hot flushes or something else?

My hot flushes were just that, waking up boiling virtually all body, fling covers off and wait for flush to pass. Sweating was usually face, chest and upper body. Legs hot but not sweaty. Flushes usually only a couple of minutes, but woke me up 4/5 times every night.

My night sweats were totally drenching but I usually woke up feeling cold.

My hot flushes were a creeping of heat up my back. Rarely did my face get hot. I never sweated.

HRT has sorted out hot flushes totally and if I do get a rare night sweat these days it is much less drenching and unpleasant.

Your symptoms could well be peri.

Thanks, it's odd though as the hot feeling went on for about 2 hours and then went away quite suddenly. But no sweating that time, just had to take all my clothes off Grin
