Bad headaches - blood pressure?

Hi,

Have just started on two pumps of gel (not had any of the progesterone yet), this is day 7 and for the few days I have had horrible headaches. I think they are blood pressure related as I really feel it when standing up and sitting down. Have been taking painkillers which do help, but is this normal and will it pass? No prior issues with headaches.

I am on meds for high BP and wonder if my BP is now too low and that is causing the headaches?

Bump

Anyone help please? I feel utterly miserable, nauseous and dizzy.

Low BP is more likely to cause dizziness than headaches.

What does the leaflet with the gel state about side effects?

Chewieboora · 27/10/2021 12:24

It says the frequency is unknown for headaches and nausea. That's it.

I'd get to the GP - headache could be a migraine, could be down high blood pressure and a marker for stroke and other serious conditions, could be completely unrelated to the meds you've just started taking.

Will give them a call, thanks.

Why not do your own BP at home with a monitor? They are very cheap from Amazon or Boots.

happytoday73 · 27/10/2021 14:15

Agree with previous poster.. Buy a BP monitor... Amazon, chemist all sell decent ones cheaply.. Worth having if you are on meds anyway

Chewieboora · 27/10/2021 14:21

I had it checked not long ago (couple of months) and it was normal but will order one, that's a good idea thanks.

I think I just want to know if feeling this crap is normal at first but suppose everyone has a different experience with HRT.

Got a BP monitor, showing as normal as is my pulse.

Will phone the dr.
