I'm 49 and while still having regular periods they have become very very heavy and last only a few days. I'm getting some menopausal symptoms, brain fog , unbelievable tiredness, resulting in sleeping 15 hours of the day when allowed, lethargy, night sweats, shakes , etc depression and sadness , anxiety and unwillingness to go out .even food shopping is an effort.

I started hrt patches about 6 weeks ago.

Now I'm still experiencing all the above but now with thrush and it seems I've started with migraines.

I'm looking for advice because the unrelenting awfulness of living like this is just grinding me down and I thought hrt might help boot me out of my fug...it hasn't- I still have all the horrible symptoms plus new ones !

Anyone any advice please?

Hi @stillvicarinatutu, that sounds awful for you.

What prescription are you on? (Presumably from your GP?) Did you get any Ovestin vaginal cream too? I need that alongside patches.

RedLightGreenL1ght · 21/10/2021 18:31

I take it you are also taking utrogestan too? You have to if you are still having periods I believe. Could you consider swapping the patches for gels?

I only know the above from all the reading I'm currently doing so I am sure what to ask for as I'm considering HRT

I've started the patches as I thought it would be easier but I'm finding they're not strong enough. I was doing better with the gel & tablets. So I'm going to switch back.

I'm just getting weird side effects- thrush , spots and breakouts on my face seem to be main ones but I think I had a migraine this week which I've never had - crushing headache with sickness and visual disturbances. Not a

Hi. I’ve been on evorel conti since may. The first few months were amazing 🤩 the flashes stopped. I was sleeping better and then the bleeding started. Spoke to doctor a while back and she was confident that it was break through bleeding and it would settle.within 6 months. It will be 6 months in November. I’m still bleeding and suffering with anxiety and not sleeping to well . I’ve been feeling a bit useless and all over the place at the moment. Reading on here I’ve seen so many different people going through similar. I’m 52 and definitely in the menopause so should I persevere another month or contact my doctor again. Any advice I would be grateful for. Thanks.
