High FSH & LH - should I worry?

Hi,

I’m 40 and I’ve just had my blood results back which show my FSH level is 160 and my LH is 70. This seems high and wonder if it’s menopause? The doctor can’t speak to me until 4th November and I’m worrying. I have a loud whooshing in my ears too abs wonder if it’s connected.

I’d be so great fun for any advice.

Thanks.

I think I read that tinnitus is one of the things that can be triggered by peri menopause

I think I’m in peri and have a whooshing intermittently.but also the GP did mention seeing a build up of wax in there.. so hopefully I can get something done about that and then it’s an easy fix. Worth a try?

hi
I hope it’s ok to reply to you now and wondered what your outcome was to your high fsh and lh levels. Reason being is my daughter has also had high levels on her blood test. Did you have any treatment to lower the levels. She can’t speak to a doctor for 2 weeks and is tearing her hair out … thank you Julia x

Hi Julia.

I was told that my levels meant I was post menopausal and started HRT immediately. My symptoms have got a lot better since. Happy to try and answer any questions you have with the small amount of knowledge I’ve acquired over the last few months.

Hi ,
thanks so much for your reply it’s very nice of you .. it’s hard trying to learn all the jargon around fertility.

My daughters FSH was 17.4 and her LH 47.5 and she is 33 and had a miscarriage last year. She knows these things take time but it hard being patient. She’s only had one blood test but is convinced she is pre menopausal. I’m glad the HRT for you has helped and will pass this on. Have you ever paid for any fertility advice or always gone down nhs route …?? The nhs drs are so hard to get appointments with .. it’s very frustrating. Thanks again.. any tips most welcome … Julia
