Estrogel made me feel really dreadful

Estrogel gave me terrible headaches, anxiety, palpitations and jitters. Felt almost drugged & not myself at all on it. Is this normal? I have been told that some people can’t tolerate the gel and are better on patches. I feel better now I have come off it but has anyone else had that experience of it? Feel disappointed as had high hopes for it.

The estrogen is gel and patches is identical. All that is different is the delivery. So you can compare it with drinking tea from a cup, or drinking it through a straw IYSWIM.

If you felt like you did, maybe the dose was too high? You can start on half a pump only and work upwards till your flushes etc are controlled.

I’m not getting flushed yet. Was put on it as a trial because of sleeplessness, low mood, achy joints etc. I still get regular periods too. Am wondering if my hormones are still fluctuating too much

As I said, how much were you using and have you tried reducing the dose?

Yes reduced from 2 pumps to 1 but still felt shit
