Question re HRT and progesterone

Hello,

If anyone can help with my query I'd be very grateful.

3.5 months ago I started HRT for possible early perimenopause, with mixed results.
At times I have felt worse/more anxious being on HRT.

However, I have noticed that I feel much better/more at ease, on days 14-18, after I have started the patches with progesterone in. I'm on Evorel Sequi.

I've always suffered with bad PMT, which I take anti-depressants for.

I'm starting to wonder if my issue might be low progesterone levels.

Thanks in advance x

Unlikely. We aren't meant to have any progesterone unless after ovulation and after menopause we have none at all, unlike estrogen.

Most women find it works the other way with HRT!

It could definitely be having a positive effect on you op:

Everyone reacts differently.

The thing is @PeriChristmas, that link is about natural progesterone creams not the same as the synthetic progestin in a patch which is Norethisterone.

Thanks very much both, still trying to work this out.
