Feel a bit silly asking this but will do anyway.
Over the past six months I've have a couple of uncharacteristically heavy periods (think weeks rather than the usual light four days)
My last one was beginning of August.
Since then nothing.
I've had periodic episodes of hot flushes, nothing major just enough to ask if anyone else is hot (usually they're not!)
Nothing else to report.
Is this it? Is this the menopause? Can I expect anything else or have I swerved the worst of it??
I'm 50, should have mentioned that at the beginning!!

Could be, but it could also just be the beginning, I've had 5 years of changed cycles (v short but heavy) then had a mirena and they have stopped - no idea if it's because of the menopause or the coil!

My good friend had no symptoms at all apart from them stopping suddenly - there's no specific pattern unfortunately so it's a maybe!

Ime the cessation of periods is just the start of it. I thought I'd sailed through when I had very few problems initially but I believe hormones slowly decline so it is only now I am struggling with feelings of dread, sleepless nights, severe joint pain and horrible palpitations.

Everyone is of course different and you may well be fine but see how you are in a couple of years.

That's what I feared, that it might be just the end of the beginning!!
Thankyou for sharing your experiences
