Anxiety and dread of the future

This is me. I have nothing big to worry about. Doesn't stop me though.
My anxiety is through the roof. I dread getting older, getting sick, being alone. I dread everything.

Please someone kick my arse

I have bouts of anxiety and can offer empathy. Mine started during the peri menopause

You could speak to your GP about it. I found talking through things with a counsellor helped.

You can always ring the Samaritans if you are in a bad place and need to talk.

I tried CBD oil, completely removed my anxiety. Andrea McLean discussed it as she used it as part of her menopause self care too. Brilliant stuff, so many benefits.

I might try CBD oil. Ive tried setraline, cbt, talking therapy and private counselling. Its still there.

@Snakeplisskensmum, my I ask which one please? I'm a bit bamboozled by the choice and each brand seems to have a hundred different kinds! Thank you

I am wondering about the side effects of CBD oil like having an upset stomach. I might give it a try though.

Snakeplisskensmum · 17/10/2021 15:40

I use the 2000mg one from Indica Beauty. I tried the 1000mg first but it didn't particularly help me. I've had zero side effects but everyone is different I know.
I used to wake up with the feeling of dread every morning, to the point where I considered resigning from my job, I thought it was that! Since starting with the oil, the tummy wrenching feelings have disappeared. I tried it in the morning and I've tried it at night too. Morning works best for me, which I'm surprised. It has helped me sleep and seems to stop the night time worrying.

@LetsGoBrandon It's difficult to say which oil works best for each person, I think there's some trial and error behind it. I've had some oils that have been great, and had some oils that do nothing. There's a lot of companies offering one thing but then sending out something completely different, so shopping around is always good. Some places might offer a CBD swap to allow you to try out their oil for free so you can see if their oil works for you.

I've ordered some CBT oil. I seem to have a pattern of not sleeping, struggling to get through the day, then managing to sleep for 7 or 8 hours. Then repeat.
