I'm on cerazette and have been for 9 years. Had a check up with the gynae about 6 months ago and he said it sounded like I was having symptoms of peri menopause and if they continued, I could call and they'd arrange a blood test to check oestrogen (?) levels because early menopause has a risk of osteoporosis.
Called last week to arrange a blood test, nurse called back today to say it has to be on days 6-9 of my cycle and asked when my last one was. I can't remember, I get random spotting, last was 52 days ago, but it wasn't a period. She said she would check with the doctor and called back to say I can't have the blood test because I'm on the pill and it would mess with the hormone levels. Dr will call next week.
Is this right? What should I be asking my doctor?
