Random menopause stuff

I have been peri-menopausal for a few years. I'm 49. The last year and a half has been more strange period wise. Also have brain fog, terrible sleeping, can't find words, pick things up, want to leave dh.

Then today I start spotting. How are we supposed to know what is "normal" for this time and we will get through or there's something else going on?

I fully believe this post doesn't make a lot of sense and that's part of it I think.

I am not sure there is any normal, just a period of transition in our life that results in a wide variety of bastard side effects and lasts for a lot longer than most people expect most of the time. What do you want to do regarding your symptoms?

Everything and anything seems to be normal, age and sex related according to my male GP.

Understand them I suppose and know if I need to be concerned or not.

My male GP, when I asked if something was menopause related immediately said - and I can't remember the exact words - he couldn't say for sure i.e. he's a man. Sounds all wrong but it was refreshing at the time even though I can not remember what he said. He wasn't dismissing me or pretending to understand.
