Hi There,
I m about to wonder if I don't have histamine intolerance.
Every time I start an Hrt, Shedding start and my hair texture turns out to be like cotton !
It happened with Femoston, 7 weeks after I stopped taking it, the shedding stopped and the texture went back as usual (coarse and thick).
I am very worried because I am 39 and I need hrt after chirurgical menaupose.
I am so disapointed.
Any expérience ?

It's not the gel.
It's impossible for that to happen.

I'm sorry it must be really horrible for you, but estrogen doesn't make hair fall out. Some of the progestogens if they are the androgenic type may (and that doesn't include Femoston.)

Has your dr suggested anything?

If you have no ovaries, your own estrogen levels will be so low, that hair loss (sadly) is likely, so you need a higher level of estrogen.

You need higher levels of estrogen than a woman with ovaries would. Go and google local Menopause clinics and self refer. Also up your Vitamin D and iron levels

Check

Thanks ladies. Actually, I don't shedd hair when I am off hrt. Femston was a good dose 2/10. And I shedd hair on the oestrogen only part.
I know oestrogen isngood for hair and skin. It seems like my scalp over react or are the histamine.

That's why I m thinking of histamine intolérance.

@Dada40 I'm no expert on hair loss though I have read a bit on it.
My understanding is that hair loss happens after a withdrawal of hormones, which ties in with how women often lose hair once their baby is born (because hormone levels drop after being very high.)

It isn't an immediate reaction- for instance, you won't lose hair while you use estrogen. It's more likely that the hair loss is happening 2 weeks after taking the progestin, which coincides with the next cycle of estrogen-only tablets (in Femoston.)

Hair doesn't fall out immediately, because hair has a cycle of growth that is months. Any hair you lose, may have been winding down its growth cycle for a long time before it falls out.
