Testosterone and alcohol intolerance

I started on testosterone about 2 months ago and about 2 weeks in I became unable to drink.

I'm not a huge boozer, no more than 2 units an evening and that only about every 10 days. I used to have terrible alcohol intolerance pre HRT and when I was mid cycle/pre menstrual so I'm quite cautious still, gave up altogether for 5 years when peri.

Anyway been fine on my two drinks for years, not a whiff of a hangover.

It's now got to the stage where I can't touch it. Friday night I had half a tin of g and t on the sofa and spent the entire next day with pounding head, sweats nausea etc,

I cannot find anything in the literature regarding this or any physiological reason it would happen as it's subcutaneous so by passes liver so looking for some anecdotal evidence!

No idea what to do. Wondering if it's because it's over loading my liver so I should stop taking it anyway as that's not good or if it's just affecting an enzyme in which case I could just give up drinking for the foreseeable. Which also is just a bit rubbish!

I don't actually need a libido as I'm single but I thought that having one might encourage me to do something about that!

Anyone else had anything similar and was it temporary?

Bumping desperately! Someone somewhere must have had similar? Or maybe I'm an aberration ...

Not me. I’m on T but can’t say I’ve noticed a decreased tolerance for alcohol, aside from the not-unusual decrease / worse hangovers that tend to come with age. Maybe it’s not the T, just coincidence?

Thanks for replying.

I've contacted my clinic about it. I'm sure she'll say what you have about alcohol and aging/menopause. However since I've been on oestrogen/progesterone for last 4 years I've been able to drink. Prior to that when peri I couldn't for years and prior to that I couldn't around ovulation and pms. There's a definite correlation. And it's a definite intolerance rather than overdoing it as it happened on a mere snifter.

It's probably me and my weird body.
