For the second time I'm trying hrt
And for the second time I feel awful

So bloated and can't do my clothes up.

Doctor says stick it out for three
Month but I feel so depressed fat and my mood is worse as I'm so down about this weight gain

The only benefit is an improvement in my joint pain.

Anyone had similar?

I’m on HRT too. I think it’s been two years now. I use Oestrogel 4pumps daily and Utogesteron for 12 days I’m a month. I feel great in myself but unfortunately have put on weight. I’m finding this distressing but as my BMI is still fine I don’t suppose anyone’s interested. Maybe I was just too thin before? Nothing fits and I’ve had to buy all new clothes. I’ve been the same size for ever, didn’t change much after pregnancy even.

No help to you but I can sympathise.

I've put on loafs of weight on HRT but doubt I could function without it.

I still don’t understand why HRT could or does make anyone gain weight as it’s just replacing something we always had. That said, I have gained half a stone since starting it but I have also been eating more so it’s no great surprise.

The best thing about HRT so far for me is better sleep which allows me to exercise more. Our bodies and their nutritional needs change as we get older regardless of whether we’re on HRT surely? If I ate the same now as I did aged 20 I’d be the size of a house even though I actually do a lot more physical activity now.

I have friends who swear they eat no more than they ever did but are gaining weight but they also go out to coffee shops to meet friends several times a week and they’re not drinking water. Those are invisible calories like the odd glass of wine etc.
