Heavy periods for first time

Hello - I recently stopped HRT (didn't even finish one cycle) as it didn't agree with me. Where my periods were light and scant I've just had the heaviest flow overnight as second normal period post hrt. Why might that be? I assumed it would go back to my normal... help!

Well, it's likely to be the fact you stopped your HRT before using the progesterone for the last 2 weeks of the month.

As you skipped that, your lining didn't shed so now you have double the amount of a normal cycle coming away.

I started Activelle for awful hot flushes just 3 weeks ago. Had to stop it as have just had a very bad period. Heavy. Painful. Just like when I was a teenager. Haven't had period in 7 years and didn't realise this would be part of HRT. Tbh I'd rather sweat than bleed and have such awful pain. Anyone else here had this experience? Should I be worried? Thank you

Jinglinghellsbells I wasn't told anything about bleeding or what to expect. I got cramps and so stopped taking the Activelle. My doc didn't seem to know much when I told him, he had to google it.
