Which patch?

GP has recommended HRT. I asked for gel + progesterone tablet. She recommends a combined patch. I'm still having periods, the gaps in my cycle vary from 3mths to 3wks.
Having read up on it last night, the combined patches seem to be for people who haven't had a period for a significant amount of time. Is this the case? So would the GP be prescribing the wrong thing? Any thoughts?

You need a combined sequential patch such as evoel sequi, the box has two different patches oestrogen only for the first half of your cycle and oestrogen and progesterone for the second. If you haven't had a period for over a year then you can have evorel conti which gives both hormones continuously.

Cheers, I've spoken to her again and it's all sorted.

FemSeven Conti patches - are these available from GPs now? I know they stopped producing them in late 2019 and I've been taking a conti tablet every day since. But I prefer the patches and I've read they are preferable to ingesting a tablet. Is there an equivalent patch available now? Appreciate any help please.

I started on Evorel Sequi a month ago and so far, so good.

I still have periods but was suffering from insomnia and terrible anxiety.

I've has no side effects and I am sleeping much better, my anxiety has lessened as has my hideous brain fog.

Overall I feel much calmer and more myself if that makes sense.

@Sallycinnamum

Thank you, I've been prescribed the same. I haven't worked up the courage to pick them up from the pharmacist yet! I'm a bit worried about the progesterone element.

@Ladybug21 FemSeven Conti are definitely available again, I used them this year but unfortunately they didn't agree with me, I had problems getting them to stay stuck on and when they did stick they caused an itchy rash. Swapped to Evorel Conti which I have no problems with.

Hi everyone,
I’m 48. Started combined patches nearly 4 weeks ago, feel better emotionally but physically worse.. bloating badly and since starting the progesterone patch a week ago been getting nausea and upset tummy. Anyone else suffered with this? Reason for starting HRT is that I had an ovary removed before Xmas and been suffering debilitating anxiety and insomnia since.
