Incredibly weepy and emotional since starting HRT (sequential patches) 2 weeks ago - normal?

On evorel 50, not had the progesterone patches yet just the estrogen. I'm incredibly weepy and emotional, also having headaches. Will this pass? Any experiences? Feeling pretty desperate as I was so up for HRT to help with peri symptoms.

I am on my third month. I have been ok on the white but absolutely horrendous on the green. I haven’t had pmt for twenty years but the day of my period I kept bursting into tears. I was a nervous wreck. Couldn’t even go for a meal with my friends.
I am ok on the white ones.
I rang the nurse this morning with a view to changing them apparently there are different tiptoes of her that each person tolerates differently

I’m so sorry Iv got mixed up. They ordered the everoll patches but they were out of stock. So the ones which I started straight away were the elleste duet. That’s what I feel rough off. I have got the patches now though although haven’t started them.

According to menopause matters they are both the same type of progesterone and you can try others which are more tolerable.
Sorry for the mix up.

I'm on Evorel 50. About 3 weeks now. I'm sorry you've had a bad experience as mine has been the opposite.

One of my worst peri symptoms was my low mood. That has significantly improved.

I really hope this is temporary for you 💐

You mean oestrogen I think? Not progesterone?
Agnes41 · 23/08/2021 19:57

Thought it was the progesterone that there are different types

There's different types of all medication.

You mentioned Evorel & Elleste, which are oestrogen replacement patches.

For my first two packs I was very weepy and now on pack 4 it’s settled down but I have to say I quite liked it because I hadn’t been weepy in years and I didn’t really feel emotions that much so it was a welcome symptom that things were working. I find it a good release and so I’ve always embraced it. PreHRT perimenopause was so emotionally numb except for anger /rage

Just seen the nurse
She has changed me to femoston
Apparently a milder form of the progesterone bit
