The Patient Leaflet in your pack should advise taking at bedtime.
This is because feeling dizzy or woozy is a known side effect.
You should not drive or operate machinery if this happens.
If you forget again, wait until bedtime rather than taking in the morning.

Thanks @JinglingHellsBells
Went back to bed. Felt really woozy! Won't be doing that again Blush

Interesting. I’ve been taking them for three weeks now (yes, at night) and the main effect seems to be permanent yawning and sleepiness. I assumed I was just desperate to catch up on sleep after years on broken nights, but maybe it’s not that!

Be nice if the nighttime hot flushes actually buggered off.

I'm on the oestrogen gel - I find that's really helped.

The leaflet suggests if you forget a pill to just take it at your regular time, so in the evening. Hope you feel better soon OP. I started these pills and gel on Friday. Can I ask how long it took before the gel helped you and what symptoms have you found improved best please? I have struggled for so long and am desperate for the HRT to start having effect

I took them in the morning once. Felt very dizzy and clambered upstairs like I had had 5 double vodkas, bouncing off the walls. Never done that again!

@EssexLioness I found that my upper body aches (that used to wake me up at night) went within days. My hair has also stopped falling out and my memory has improved noticeably.

That said, I'm on just one squirt/pump of gel daily on a trial basis so perhaps I need more.

The progesterone tablets however, gave me immediate breast tenderness and abdominal pain and I was bleeding within days despite being a fortnite too early.

I'm still bleeding and feeling groggy throughout parts of the morning so I'm not sure how I feel about it all, to be honest. Friends rave about it, me - still waiting for the 'rave' effect.

@BlackAlys thank you that’s helpful. I have been on one pump of the gel plus progesterone pills for 5 days now and think I’m feeling some improvement last couple of days but not sure if it’s the placebo effect. I do feel less achy today and my mood has felt lighter the last couple of days but that might be due to other things. Would love my sleep to improve but not happened so far! Brain fog seems the same but then sleep won’t help that either.

I've found possibly a slight lessening of the hot flushes a few days in, but they certainly haven't stopped. I'm supposed to be using a Mirena coil for the progesterone but the GP couldn't fit it because of inadequate depth to the uterus. Next up... investigative ultrasound to see why there appears to be inadequate depth to a uterus that has previously had three coils and four pregnancies. I'm not sure I want to know the answer.

Meanwhile, progesterone pills it is, and I spent Sunday feeling like death warmed up, but it's hard to know what to put that down to.
