when to take progestrone with irregular periods and bleeding

Hi, I'm on a long waiting list for a menopause clinic so working out what to do while I wait and also as about to go on holiday. I have been back on HRT since October, all was fine until first covid vaccine in Feb and bleeding started to go mad (who knows if linked). I got confused with when to take the progestrone, what was my own hormones breaking through, what was the HRT bleeding etc etc. I have had 4 scans in the last year including two recently and all normal. I've had a womb biopsy recently to check all ok and the gynae's view is it is probably my own cycle breaking through. He wasn't interested in giving time to HRT advice though and just made a flipant suggestion at the end. So, I was orginally on 50mg Oestridiol patches and 200 mg progestrone day 15-26 (standard and what I had when was under Dr Panay for PMT a few years ago). When periods went mad, gp said to simply do 14 days on progestrone, 14 off. The gynae said I could try 21 days on and 1 week off which seems weird as not what the Utrogestran guidance says if irregular periods and I'm not particularly progestrone tolerant. So now, 3 days after my last lot of progestrone I've had a period on day 24. So do I wait until day 15 to take the progestrone to see if that works again, stick to 14 days on, 14 off even though I don't think it ties well in with my natural cycle that is still there, try the awful 3 weeks on, 1 week off (200mg!) or try and judge when I am next ovulating and start the progestrone just after that? Can't get hold of gp and want a plan for my holiday.

Thanks x
