Everol Sequi

Hi,
I started on everol sequi patches 2 weeks ago due to many perimenopause symptoms. I still have periods so for 2 weeks oestrogen only, then 2 weeks of oestrogen plus progesterone.
I feel worse than ever!!! Achey joints as bad, foggy and really really low. In fact, I never normally feel this miserable, I have no enthusiasm for anything and just want to lie in bed.
Please someone tell me I’m being impatient and if it give it time, they will work?! Think I expected a miracle and to be prancing around within days full of energy 😂

@Winealot.. I was prescribed those patches and found exactly the same, that I was achey all over and had no energy. Also the patches caused skin irritation. So now I'm on Oestrogel and Utrogesten but my symptoms haven't improved. I don't get it!
I wonder if I should just stop the whole thing.
Have you spoken to your gp yet?

Winealot · 03/08/2021 08:51

No, I imagine the GP will just say I need to give it more time. Logically, I know this is true, I think I thought it would be miraculous and I would look and feel 30 overnight…..
I hope you fine something that works for you soon. How long did you have the patches?

I think that's what mine will say too tbh. I'm exactly the same as you! I had this ridiculous notion that I could roll back the last 10 years and even have another DC before it was too late!! I was in for a shock as we couldn't conceive Sad

Winealot · 03/08/2021 17:15

Ah, sorry to hear that. I am 50, so those days are long gone for me. I just want to feel more myself again.

Following with interest. I’m on month 2 of sequi and can’t say I feel much different 🤔
Think the advice is 3 months to see any significant improvement
I’ve got everything crossed

Kolo · 03/08/2021 19:51

Month 1 for me and I don't see any improvement at all, but no worsening of symptoms either. I'm stuggling to keep the patch in contact with my skin, though.

I've just started this. Lots of people rave about HRT though, they can't all be wrong? Confused

I think it's one of those things where you have to find the thing that works for you at the strength that works for you, so a period of adjustment for first few months? My GP made me an appointment with the pharmacist exactly one month in for this reason.
Pastrydame · 04/08/2021 18:06

Thanks Kolo. I've to have a 1 month review too. I will be patient!
Only problem so far is getting the ruddy thing to stay on! The patch keeps creasing up and if it's not touching my leg it can't be delivering hormones can it? Sad

IAmNoAngel · 04/08/2021 18:16

For me, it started to improve from day 3, and by day 6 I felt myself again. After 3 weeks I had stopped with all symptoms, even flushes and nightsweats.
I think it's keep trying until you find the one that suits you, I was just lucky the first time.

Pastrydame · 04/08/2021 18:47

@IAmNoAngel am I just being stupid about the patch not looking very well "stuck"? I've just cancelled swimming tomorrow and there's no way I can see it surviving that! And I don't have any spares to swap with

IAmNoAngel · 04/08/2021 18:55

It took me a while to find the best place (top front thigh for me), but I do find some seem to stick better than others. If I put it somewhere with a bit less firm skin it wrinkles quickly and comes loose.

Pastrydame · 04/08/2021 20:30

Ah thank you. I'll have a hunt for firmer skin (will take me a while! Grin ) - I know what you mean.I'm guessing if 95% of the patch is in contact at any one time it won't make too much difference. I loved reading your account of the improvements you felt Smile

Hi there. I’m sorry for resurrecting this post, but I am on my first month of Evorel Sequi and wondered how you are all getting on now?
I am 3 days into my Evorel Conti patch (so week 3), and have started what would be my ‘normal’ period - after the usual 2 days of spotting, sore boobs- and I have my usual excruciating period pains as the bleeding starts.
My periods are frequent but irregular, anything from 17 days to 29 days apart, with one 3 month gap last year. It’s annoying me that this first month I have continued as ‘normal’ with a 20 day cycle and the usual pain. I know I need to be patient, but a miracle would be nice! 😀 Other symptoms are a bit better though I think.
