Aching breast

Has anyone had just one breast ache regularly?

I’m sort of worried because I had cancer in my achy breast 3 years ago. The NHS website says it’s not a sign of cancer, just a peri-menopause thing. But my other breast never aches.

I would ask your GP just to be careful. I'm peri too. Mine get a bit achy when I'm due on, but that's nothing new and affects both.

I've had cancer in the opposite breast (mastectomy etc) to my current achey breast. I had bilateral breast pain (hormone related abnormality) which proved fortunate as that's how my cancer was found, but was not the cause. Phone both your gp and local breast care unit/ nurse on Monday. The breast cancer forums also have nurse specialists available to talk to on line, and over the phone, this will hopefully provide at least some support whilst you wait. My current achey breast has been checked (different reasons due to genetic mutation), but the pain is likely hormone linked, just as the previous pain was. The pain was and is in the same place as my milk ducts that were most active when I breast fed, and had mastitis. I won't say don't worry because you will, The breast cancer forums are a good source of support and can make almost the difference in the early hours when you're brain won't shut down. Please take care. Flowers

Thanks @Zombiemum1946.

It’s been ongoing for a few months. My yearly mammogram in September was clear but I know I should have it checked really.
