Prickly/tingly skin?

Hi ladies anyone experienced prickly tingly skin (just on my neck and radiating out to shoulders?) I’m 50 in perimenopause and recently started HRT. Could it be low oestrogen or just plain old anxiety? Thanks so much for the advice!

Yes I get this everywhere and a rash too. Horrible. I’d be keen to know what hrt works on this.

Oh no it sounds horrible @SinisterBumFacedCat Feeling for you. I’ve been googling and as far as I can see tingly, burning/ crawling skin can be a sign of low oestrogen. In that sense hrt might work to make it better as oestrogen is replaced. It can also be a symptom of anxiety in which case HRT might not work (unless the anxiety is caused by low oestrogen!). It’s also a side effect of some antidepressants. So... maybe someone else on here might know more/ have experience of this improving and have worked out what helped! It just all feels so difficult to navigate!

Yes I'm almost certainly peri and been looking for a threads on this! It's called formication apparently?

Just feels like I've got something crawling all over my shoulders and scalp, keep looking but there's nothing there! It's getting worse and I wonder if this might be the symptom that finally gets me off to the docs...

I've just found out about formication.

Its spider season and I haven't shaved my legs in ages so for a while I thought I had wee spiders all over me. I've been twitching for days. I didn't know about formication and then today I started with it all over (not just on my legs). And something at the back of my mind was telling me to google crawling skin - and ITS A PERI/MENO thing.

Holy cow I was not expecting to feel like I had bugs crawling all over me - its not pleasant. I must make a doctors appointment.

I've had a rash on my neck and itchy skin since the end of last year. Like many, unknown this is a peri menopausal symptom.

I've been on patches for 3 weeks and it's definitely helped. Not completely but my skin is no longer sore and uncomfortable
