How do I stop my HRT patches peeling off in the heat?

I've had four patches crinkle off this week and I'm only supposed to be now on my second. It usually takes half a bottle of baby oil to get all the sodding lint/glue off but that's just falling off as well. Anyone else having the same problem? I'm on the combined patch and I've completely forgotten where I'm supposed to be cycle wise - so that's not good..

I've used a stretchy self grip bandage but it rolls down after a bit so now using micropore tape!

I used to find my shoulder better than other areas for keeping the stick!

No idea about patches in general but the ones I have tell you below the waist.
No idea why either but best to be sure! Grin

I know the heats a pain for lack of stick 🙄 I was thinking of gaffer taping it to my thigh 😂
I'm constantly checking it's still on I keep thinking it might fall off in the night and stick to DH instead, and we'll,that could cause all types of trouble 😉x

I did hear of someone’s DH that happened to regularly and he grew boobs. That was his story anyway..Grin

Grin omg I’d better not tell DP this. He freaked out when he felt it the other night (only recently started) and asked if he’d grow boobs if he touched it.

I’m also having trouble with them sticking - thought it was just me being a sweaty mess so I’m glad I’m not the only one.

HasaDigaEebowai · 22/07/2021 15:14

My most recent boxes have been rubbish at sticking anyway and come off in the bath and showers.

QuentinBunbury · 22/07/2021 15:16

Oh this is also doing my head in. I seem to always get given the big estraderm patches and they are doing my head in. Much prefer estrodot but rarely get them.
I think I've had to use a new patch every day this week Angry

Rina66 · 22/07/2021 15:22

I'm glad you said that @HasaDigaEebowai as I told my Doctor the exact same thing and he said how odd, nobody else has any trouble with them. I said I never used to but now I just don't feel confident using them, they scrunch, they ripple, they roll up, they fall off, it's ridiculous and I follow the application instructions to the letter. I did ask for Lenzetto spray or gel - got the gel but I need 3 to 4 pumps so a big area to apply it to and also I shower at different times, so I worry that perhaps the effects wear off if I shower at 7am today and 11am tomorrow?

HasaDigaEebowai · 22/07/2021 15:24

Its definitely a recent change for me. Previously they stayed on when wet but I think they’ve changed the sticky stuff.

Bargebill19 · 22/07/2021 15:28

Use Elastoplast with them. The fabric on a roll without the pad bit. It’s like gorilla glue compared with micro pore tape.

TheQueef · 22/07/2021 15:31

Don't go all the way around Iggy you get a massive string of sausage shaped leg, took two days for mine to even out.
I'm styling it with halfway tape, replacing the tape as and when.
My DS had one stuck to his foot in the shower.
Made a right fuss.

TheQueef · 22/07/2021 15:33

I daren't Bill I'm far too hairy for big brand elastoplast. I'd have to go A&E for patch change.

Bargebill19 · 22/07/2021 15:34

@thequeef

🤣🤣🤣 ( whispers. Razors!)

TheQueef · 22/07/2021 15:57

Razors Shock! How dare you.
I'm sticking it to the man, one Gillette Venus at a time.
I don't shave owt.

@TheQueef
I hear you! (I’m pretending the hair acts to keep the sun rays from burning me to a crisp).
Bears? You are awesome, I appear to aonly manage one day chin hair and a 70s moustache 🥸
