Oestrogel + Utrogestan --> What can I expect?

MrsKypp · 21/07/2021 16:39

I started with one pump of Oestrogel on my upper arms once a day along with one tablet of Utrogestan at night.

What can I expect?

e.g.
weight gain / loss
Tiredness / energy
sleeping better
hot flushes
anxiety
mood
skin
libido
blood pressure
breasts
etc

Also, would you recommend Testosterone? I don't know why we don't get that seeing as a 'complete' HRT would include it. Presumably because medical research couldn't care less about females.

Thanks for any advice, comments etc!!!

My own experience after a few months of the same meds as you:

weight gain / loss - not affected

Tiredness / energy - way more energy!

sleeping better- ooh yes!

hot flushes - they disappeared

anxiety - so much improved

mood - I feel like a new person

skin - looks and feels younger

libido - no change

blood pressure - no change

breasts - slightly fuller

Good luck!

Exactly what Surfer says. It was a sort of ‘s’ curve effect over the first couple of months and has levelled off / dipped a bit-I’ve gone up to two pumps. I’m monitoring it and tweaking the pumps.

100% agree
Second month peaked overeating and larger breasts
Third month now absolutely fine and
More energy
No night sweats
Calmer
Motivated on eating and exercising

Thank you so much for your extremely helpful replies!!!!

I'm so worried about weight gain, partly because I've been eating more since starting it, and wondering whether it makes you do that. Or it could be the heat, or coincidence too.

So good to hear your energy levels are good etc

Hope you all continue to feel so much better!

PS I started it a few days ago (less than a week).

Are you taking for peri or meno op?

sunistoohot · 21/07/2021 21:40

I was worried as well about weight gain
After the second month I thought right I'll try a strict diet and if I don't lose then I know it's a lost cause - was strict and it came off
For me I think progesterone causes my appetite to soar - put on 5 stone in pregnancy - same cravings happened here
All subsided now and actually much more stable so well worth the temporary 5 pound gain (but was scary how quickly it happened)
(Oh and gone back to non strict, normal healthy eating)

CowCat · 23/07/2021 13:04

A thank you from me too. Was going to ask the same question as OP.

I am peri.

I'll keep you company, MrsKypp -- just started the same thing, same dose.

Day 1 of new me is... hungry.
