Bleeding on HRT

I've been on oestrogel and progesterone for over a year and all has been well. I had about 2 years of no periods before I started the HRT.

Recently I started spotting, just mainly pinkish discharge, but then it went to blood, but only enough to fill a panty liner.
I spoke to my gp who advised me to stop taking the HRT for a month and that she would arrange a scan.

The next day I stopped all bleeding/spotting so I carried on taking the HRT (reason being I am scared of getting back all the symptoms and also going through hell with my teen who is anorexic)

I had an ultrasound and a transvaginal scan and all was fine apart from a small cyst which they are going to keep an eye on (this also made me feel like it was ok to carry on the HRT)

Then 10 days later the bleeding started again and now its like a proper period, albeit light, but enough to wear a panty liner all the time and its proper blood, and been going on for 4-5 days.

I can't get an appointment with my gp until next week. Have decided to now stop the HRT today.

I desperately don't want to stop being on HRT, I feel so much better with it and able to cope with my stress at the moment.

Just wondering if anyone has gone through anything similar and can give me any advice?

I know you want someone to tell you to keep taking it, and I totally understand why, I think you should stop it. The last time bleeding started the GP told you to stop. Just think it doesn't leave you body instantly when you stop taking it & hopefully it is not too long until you see your GP, . Best of luck OP, I am sorry about your teenager.

What dose are you using of both?

How much gel per day and assume you use Utrogestan every day? (Is that 1 x 100mgs capsule?)

If you had a scan recently (when?) it looks as if all is okay. Things don't change that fast. It would take months and months for the lining to build up and be a problem.

Just check you are using the right amount of progesterone and not a really high dose of gel.

Bleeding happens when the progesterone is not controlling the lining.

Thanks @Winnona, I stopped it yesterday and seeing the GP next week.

@JinglingHellsBells I use 3 pumps of oestrogel in the morning and 1 100mg tablet of Utrogesten at night.

The scan was 2 weeks ago.
