Gel V Patch

Hi,

I currently take 4 pumps of Estrogel and progesterone 2 weeks out of 4. I feel like some symptoms are coming back. I know that 4 pumps is the max (even though privately you can go up to 10 and testosterone). Has anyone found patches to be more effective? Do you combine these with progesterone as well?

Any advice would be welcome?

Hi
I prefer the patch over gel. I like the consistent dose of Oestrogen it gives my body. The gel makes me feel quite wired and irritable. I also dislike the sticky feeling and waiting for the gel to dry when I’m in a hurry.

You can use more than 4 pumps of gel under a specialist, as you say.
Patch strength goes to 100 Oestrogen only and obviously again under a specialist, you can exceed that dose if you need to .

I take 100mg utrogestan nightly with the current patch i am on.
I did experience some bleeding with the patches so my specialist has suggested changing my regime to a lower dose of oestrogen and changing the progesterone.

Sometimes women stop absorbing the gel and find the patch more effective at controlling symptoms and vice versa.

Best of luck .
